HitMark Privacy Policy
HitMark processes your videos entirely on your device. We don't collect your data or track how you use the app.
1. Introduction
Last updated: May 28, 2026.
HitMark ("HitMark," "we," "us," or "our") is an application for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, made by the team behind Scouted Recruiting, that analyzes baseball and softball at-bat videos to find each pitch and create short clips for review. This Privacy Policy explains how HitMark handles your information.
The short version: HitMark processes all video and audio entirely on your device. We do not require an account, we do not collect your personal information, we do not track how you use the app, and your videos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else for processing.
HitMark is a companion to the Scouted app but is a separate application. This policy covers HitMark only. The Scouted app is governed by its own Privacy Policy.
2. On-Device Processing
All of HitMark's video analysis happens locally on your device using an on-device computer-vision model. When you choose a video to analyze, HitMark reads the video, detects the pitches in the at-bat, and creates clips — all without sending any video, audio, frames, or derived data off your device.
There are no servers involved in processing your videos. Your media stays on your device throughout analysis.
3. Information We Collect
We do not collect personal information. Specifically:
- HitMark has no account system. You don't sign up, log in, or give us your name, email, or any other identifier.
- We do not include analytics, advertising, or tracking software in the app. We do not measure how you use HitMark or build a profile of you.
- Your videos and the clips HitMark creates from them are not transmitted to us. We never receive, store, or have access to your media.
- HitMark does not collect your device location.
The clips and any related information HitMark generates are stored locally on your device under your control.
4. Photos, Files, Camera & Microphone Access
HitMark asks for certain device permissions so it can do its job. These permissions are used only on your device, for the purposes described below:
- Photos & Files: so you can pick the at-bat videos you want to analyze.
- Saving to Photos: if you choose to save a clip to your Photos library when sharing it, HitMark needs permission to add it.
- Camera (optional): so you can record an at-bat and analyze it right away.
- Microphone (optional): so HitMark can record audio with your video and listen for bat-on-ball contact while detecting pitches.
You can grant or revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device's Settings. Granting access lets HitMark read or save media on your device — it does not send that media to us.
5. When Media Leaves Your Device
A clip leaves your device only when you choose to share it. HitMark hands the clip to your device's share sheet, and you decide where it goes — saving it to your Photos library or Files, sending it in Messages or by AirDrop or email, or handing it to another app or service.
Once you share or save a clip, what happens to it is governed by the destination you chose — for example, your Photos library, the recipient, or the third-party app or service's own privacy practices. HitMark has no involvement in or control over that step.
6. Children's Privacy
HitMark does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because all processing happens on the device and no data is sent to us, HitMark does not knowingly gather information about children. Videos analyzed with HitMark may include minors (for example, a parent recording their child's at-bat); those videos are processed only on the device and are never transmitted to us. Parents and guardians control which videos are imported and which clips are saved or shared.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or to legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the app. If a future version of HitMark introduces any feature that transmits data off your device, we will update this policy to describe it clearly before that feature is enabled.
8. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or about HitMark, please contact us at [email protected].
